As i have reminded all interested whenever there is an airboat thread, do not cheap out on the cage. i am in south florida and grew up with airboats in the everglades back in the 60's and 70's and i knew more than one airboat owner with only one arm or hand.. I am not in anyway promoting glen-l airboat design but they have a great airboat plan. the plan is somewhat more of the serious type as compared to other available plans out there..personally speaking of course.. Well, with our airboat plans you can have one of your own, and without spending thousands of dollars for it. just build a mini airboat yourself with simple tools you have, and materials you can get right from your local hardware store!you don’t have to go through trying to figure out how to design an airboat yourself, just follow our air boat plans..
Find a plan. basic plans to build an airboat are available from outfits like lake buggy airboats website. here you can choose from single seat and two seat plans. obtain an airboat engine and propeller. some folks have used lawnmower engines and some have used turbine engines to power their airboats.. So finally got back to it and cleaned up the prototype. found some good plans online and this is what i ended up with. i built it from 6mm depron foam and regular hot glue. it's not water tight.
